It’s been a busy, dust covered, room-disheveled week. The coolest thing we’ve found during this demo—a dog tax receipt for the 1st owner of our home. . 1st - this confirms the notorious Warman Flack was likely the 1st home owner. . 2nd - Indy had a dog tax? @herstoryindy do you know about this? . This actually fell out of the ceiling so it likely had been in the attic . A proper place for storing such things. . A note, Warman Flack has one crazy story I’m still trying to piece together. In researching my home, I quickly came to realize the city records aren’t always accurate...the city says my home was built in 1926... yet I’ve found newspaper articles mentioning it years before that. In the off chance an old house peep in my midwest area has an unwanted (yet functional) radiator they’d be willing to sell and it’s right around 46” long...I’d like to just make it clear I’d be a very willing buyer. . The ol’ radiator in the basement hasn’t worked since we’ve owned the place. It dawns on us (a decade later) that maybe it would help our kitchen pipes if we had heat in their area in the basement below 🤷‍♀️ .
